I was very pleased

I placed an order for a Cookie Bouquet, plus two boxes of Build Your Own cookies for store pickup. Upon arrival, I was only handed a bag — the bouquet was missing entirely. When I double-checked the bag, I also noticed the second Build Your Own cookie box was missing as well.
My frustration wasn't about the mix-up itself — mistakes happen, and I completely understand that. What bothered me was what happened while I waited for my order to be corrected. As I stood there patiently, several customers walked in and were offered free cookies by the staff at the counter, while I — a paying customer waiting on an incomplete order — received nothing.
A small gesture of goodwill while I waited would have gone a long way. I hope the team can be more attentive to customers who are already dealing with an inconvenience.
