Our gourmet cookies create smiles, and so does our blog. Follow along for the latest in the world of Félix & Norton.
Classics are the definition of good, great and perfectly perfect. Like a Rolling Stones album, a Leafs vs. Habs game, a night at the movies with popcorn (and the F&N cookies you smuggled), or a campfire with friends and s'mores. As we don’t have the rights to any Stones albums, lost our fave hockey jersey and don’t want to get our cookies seized at the movies, we decided to share with you our easy 3-step S’mores recipe.
Bake as many cookies as you think you’ll need. Times two. Because there’s no such thing as too much goodness in this world.
Place your chocolate in a heatproof bowl and place it over a saucepan of simmering water. Make sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl and stir occasionally as it melts. This is called a bain-marie - sounds fancy, right? As a matter of fact, use it to impress your friends in any Martha Stewart or Jamie Oliver related conversation.
*Important to note that you could also melt your chocolate in a microwave, but as we’re lovers of fine things, we prefer the old-school method.
Using a torch, toast your marshmallows until golden brown. You could also use a campfire. Or an oven set on broil. Depends on your lifestyle.
There you have it! All there’s left to do is assemble your hard work to complete your amazing creation. You can’t go wrong with a classic, especially if it only requires 3 easy steps to get you to paradise.
Have fun making these and enjoy!
Summer is still going strong and there’s no better way to end a meal than with something cold that has a touch of nostalgia for dessert. That’s how we came with the idea of building the perfect banana split for you. Ready for pure happiness?
Step 1: Bake as many F&N cookies as you think you’ll need. (That probably means a lot). These will act as the foundation for your sundae. Break them into pieces and place them at the bottom of your plate.
Step 2: Enter the star of the show: the banana. You could caramelize it in butter with spices and everything, but we decided to go with a plain one. You can’t go wrong with a classic. Plus there’s a lot going on so we better pace ourselves.
Step 3: Time to add the ice cream. We went for vanilla because we feel this flavour is always a good idea, but hey, you only live once, so if you feel like adding extra love to your creation with a chocolate-peanut butter-strawberry-caramel-roasted nuts ice cream, you should go for it.
Step 4: Top your new baby with your favourite toppings. From sliced almonds to chocolate syrup, passing by homemade whipped cream and maraschino cherries, without forgetting some chocolate chips, sprinkles or more fruits like strawberries, raspberries or blueberries, you really can’t make a bad decision here.
And, now it’s time to enjoy your creation! We promise it will take you down memory lane.
The only day that matters in May - sorry Victoria Day - is almost here and you can count on us at F&N to help you in orchestrating the best Mother’s Day activity with the woman who gave you everything. Admit it: she gave you her all and she still does, while you probably screen her calls and collect her Tupperwares somewhere in your apartment. We’re here to save the day and make sure you redeem yourself on this extra special day.
No matter how old you are, you’ll always be your mother’s child. So, in her eyes, you making letter-shaped cookies is still the cutest thing you could ever offer her. Cue the nostalgia. Don’t worry if you’re no Christina Tosi, it’s all about having fun in the kitchen! #BakeSomeSmiles
First step: Thaw about a dozen cookies (preferably an assortment of all flavours) for about ten to fifteen minutes
Second step: Take those cookie cutters out and follow the instructions on the packaging. If you threw them out, YouTube to the rescue. Tip: Use the scraps to make more letters or emojis.
Third step: Pop these bad boys in the oven for 6 to 8 minutes.
Fourth step: Take your letter-shaped cookies out of the oven and let them sit pretty while they cool down to room temperature.
Fifth (& final) step: Enjoy your mother making fun of your artistic skills.
To accompany your masterpiece, we recommend baking an extra dozen cookies so the whole fam can enjoy some F&N. Flowers not included. Happy Mother’s Day!

12 Felix and Norton cookies - I used Ebony & Ivory cookie dough, but these would be great with any of their four fun flavours
2-3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
Blue, orange and red food colouring
Sprinkles for decorating
Bake Felix and Norton cookies according to instructions.
Once cooled, crumble the cookies by chopping with a knife or using a food processor.
Mix the crumbled cookies and cream cheese in a bowl until well combined.
Take the cookie mixture and form small balls with your hands.
Place on baking sheet and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Start melting the white chocolate while the cookie balls are being refrigerated. Bring about an inch of water to a simmer in your saucepan. Set the heatproof bowl in the mouth of the pot, making sure the water doesn't touch the bottom of the bowl. Stir chocolate occasionally as it softens. When you have just a few small unmelted chunks, remove bowl from heat. Add a few drops of food colouring to achieve the desired colour.
Remove cookie balls from refrigerator. Using a spoon or fork, dip cookie balls one at a time into melted chocolate. Place them back on baking sheet and immediately top with sprinkles.
To create snowmen faces, melt dark chocolate. Using a toothpick, draw the eyes and mouth. Add orange food colouring to the white melted chocolate to create the nose and red food colouring to create the cheeks.
Refrigerate 1 hour until firm.
